Bus collides with motorcycle killing two policemen in Pokhara

POKHARA: Two police constables were killed after the motorcycle they were riding on collided with a bus along the Prithvi Highway in Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City on Sunday night. The deceased have been identified as Sushil Baniya and Pradip Kumar Yadav, both performing duties at the Baidam-based Police Office. The bus (Ba 4 Kha 5758) heading to Kathmandu from Burtibang in Baglung district collided with the motorcycle (Ga 11 Pa 3645), killing the motorcycle riders near Bijaypur River at around 10:00 pm yesterday, according to Spokesperson at the Kaski District Police Office, Khadga Bahadur Khatri. Critically injured two-wheeler riders were rushed to the Pokhara Academy of Health and Sciences (PAHS), Western Regional Hospital (WRH), where they were pronounced dead on arrival. Meanwhile, police have impounded the bus and detained its driver, for further investigation into the case.
