RAUTAHAT: Former President of Rautahat Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Basudev Adhikari has been thrashed over parking issue in Chandrapur Municipality of Rautahat district this morning. The incident occurred when Adhikari asked driver Ajit Chaudhary to park the vehicle somewhere else while the latter was trying to park it in front of the already congested road. The driver hit Adhikari on his head with a stone and punched him on his face after a clash between them over the issue. He is currently undergoing treatment at the Chandranigahapur Hospital in the district. Adhikari received three stitches on his head. Following the incident, the shopkeepers in the area have staged a protest. Likewise, the Chandranigahapur Area Police Office has arrested Chaudhary and the Gaur District Court has remanded him to custody for 10 days for further investigation, said DSP Shanti Raj Koirala at the APO. Lack of proper parking has become a serious issue for the locals in Chandrapur area. Meanwhile, the transport entrepreneurs have also staged transportation strike along the Gaur-Chandranigahapur road section demanding to release Chaudhary. They further accused the traffic police for failing to manage proper parking system in the area.
