BHAKTAPUR: Emergency health services will be provided to tourists visiting Bhaktapur district from Sunday onwards. An agreement has been made between Bhaktapur Tourism Development Committee and Dr Iwamura Memorial Hospital to provide emergency health services to tourists visiting Bhaktapur from today, informed the Committee in a press meet organised in Kathmandu. After the press-meet, Hospital Manager Ranjit Marikhu informed that the hospital would provide free ambulance service for various health issues including food poisoning. The agreement was made between the two parties since Bhaktapur did not have emergency health services for the tourists. Ram Sundar Bhele, Head of Bhaktapur Tourism Development Committee said, 'The agreement will attract more tourists to travel to Bhaktapur.' Each year 300,000 tourists visit Bhaktapur but the authorities failed to pay attention for providing emergency health services to them.
