BHOJPUR: A person died on the spot and another sustained injuries after the jeep they were travelling in met with an accident in Siddhicharan Municipality-11 along the Solu-Solukhumbu road section of Okhaldhunga district on Wednesday morning. The deceased has been identified as driver Shiva Kumar Shrestha (21) of Taluwa in Siddhicharan Municipality-1 and injured as driver's assistant Arjun Gautam (19) of Tokshel in Manebhanjyang Rural Municipality-7 of the district. According to police, the incident occurred when the poultry laden Bolero jeep (Ko 2 Cha 1349) en route from Okhaldhunga to Solukhumbu plunged some 100 metres below the road at 3:30 am today. Injured Gautam was rushed to a mission hospital in the district where he has been undergoing treatment, informed police. Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
