KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has been administered the oath of office and secrecy by Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli. The Judicial Council has sent a removal letter to Chief Justice Parajuli today, citing inconsistencies in the birth dates as mentioned in his citizenship and academic certificates. President Bhandari had emerged victorious with an overwhelming majority and was re-elected for the second term of office on Tuesday. President Bhandari had won the election by a margin of 27,545 votes after securing 39,275 votes, while NC lawmaker Kumari Laxmi Rai of Nepali Congress had received 11,730 votes. Chief Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhee Prasad Yadav handed over the certificate of election to President Bhandari at Shital Niwas, Kathmandu, on Tuesday evening itself.
