Butwal, April 2 Ruslan Three Star Club came from a goal down to beat Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi Club 2-1 in the final of the third Madan Bhandari International Gold Cup Football Tournament here today. Ananta Tamang and Ajayi Martins scored a goal each for Three Star after Bimal Rana opened the scoring for MMC in the second minute. Three Star, who were forced to play the final match without a rest day, levelled the tally in the 69th minute when Tamang found the back of the nets following a pass from Peter. Martins then sealed the victory in the 82nd minute from close range capitalising on a defensive lapse from MMC defenders. Champions Three Star received Rs 1.5 million, while runners-up MMC earned Rs 750,000. Losing semi-finalists defending champion Sunaulo Sangam and hosts Madan Bhandari Sports Club received Rs 100,000 each. Anjan Bista of MMC was declared the best player of the tournament and he earned Rs 50,000. Chief Minister of State No 5 Shankar Pokharel handed over the prizes to the winners of the tournament.
