Eight vie for MYA awards

Kathmandu, March 1:

Eight organisations have filed their nomination for the Management of the Year Award (MYA). This has been revealed at a press meet organised by Management Association of Nepal (MAN) in the capital today.

Every year MAN awards from MYA goes to the best manager on the basis of the performance of the organisation the manager is associated with. MAN is celebrating its Silver Jubilee National Convention on March 3 where Kenichi Ohashi, country director of the World Bank, is going to speak on Management of Economic Reforms and Prof Louis Young would present a paper on management practices.

Felicitation of people who have continuously supported the development of MAN and MAN Byavasthapan Journal will also be arranged at the programme, said Arzu Rana Deuba, president of MAN.

To promote good management practices, Management Development Centre (MDC) has been established which has already become fully operational. “The MDC envisages creating unbiased thinking and to work as an independent think-tank for management and development issues,” Deuba said.

Deuba also informed that MAN has started an executive MBA programme in association with Purbanchal university to address the dearth of skilled managers and will be soon launching

a professional diploma course on banking and a professional diploma on insurance in association with the All India Management Association.
