KATHMANDU: The seventh Handicraft Trade Fair 2062 concluded with a fashion show on February 28.

With models sashaying down the ramp wrapped in domestic designs and local weaves and blends, the fashion show was an eyeopener for many. The audience was made to feel that ‘Hey even our own weaves can look this great’.

The fashion show was an inspiration as well as a great platform for many from the handicraft sector to display their lovely creations.

The fair itself was a huge success. According to organiser, around 50,000 visitors visited the five-day fair. Micro entrepreneurs from across the country had come to participate in the fair.

“The fair provides micro and small entrepreneurs a forum which ultimately gives them an exposure to medium and large scale industries of the country,” said Bikash Ratna Dhakhwa, vice-president of Nepal Handicraft Association as well as the coordinator of the fair.

The participants of the fair were felicitated and given awards on different field.

Swanig Designing was declared as having the best stall at the fair. Sanju Shah was acknowledged for the best textile work and Phatte Jyoti Shah for metal work.
