February 18 was a special day. This day marked the 28th anniversary of our school Bal Udyan Secondary Boarding School and a Bal Udyan Fete had been organised to mark the day.

Parents, guardians, friends and former students visited the fete and enjoyed themselves at the various food and games stalls that had been put up. My favourite game for the day was bingo for which many attractive gifts were offered. But sadly I could not win any gift.

As I was also helping out at the tattoo stall I was unable to try my hand at other games.

The afternoon saw a huge gathering for the live music concert that had been organised. One could see people swaying and dancing to the songs of our popular artistes like Sugam Pokharel, Saroj Dutta, Araj Keshav, Laxman Gurung, among others.

At the end of the day, our principal Binod Bhujel, and general secretary of the Nepal Teachers’ Association, who was the chief guest, and programme coordinator Bishnu Hari Gautam, gave medals and certificats to more than 30 teachers and former students of BUSB in recognition of their contribution to the school’s progress in the last 28 years. This was one enjoyable and memorable day.
