SURUNGA, JHAPA: A man was killed after being hit by lightning at Indo-Nepal border area in Jhapa district on Tuesday night.

According to police, the deceased has been identified as Mahesh Lal Yadav (55) of Kachankabal Rural Municipality-1, who was returning from Suribhitta Bazaar in India after delivering milk when the incident happened.

Yadav reportedly died on the way to a hospital in Birtamod of Jhapa, informed police.
