KATHMANDU: How would it feel to stroll around cascade of stories, shaped by artists decades apart in their ages and art? Music Art Gallery, a humble retreat at Jhamsikhel, Lalitpur has come up with the exhibit ‘Ages of Paintings Mini-Large’ to shed light onto the curious pondering. Starting from April 14, 2018 at 3:00 pm, the gallery will showcase collections from artists who differ not only in their ages but decades of perspectives which they have conversed and stroked in their art. Through centuries, Nepal has seen various art forms — stone art, wood art, wall art and paintings — to name a few, as the gallery suggests, “Although Nepal has a relatively smaller art market, some of the best and finest artists in the world canvas their imaginations here.” And out of those finest, the gallery has decided to showcase paintings of few honourable artists, late and living. According to Music Art Gallery, the event intends to promote Nepali art as much as possible by featuring works of artists with decades of experience. Works of Sashi Bikram Shah, known for his horses, Krishna Manadhar, for his trees and landscapes, Shyam Lal Shrestha for his social cultural art, Radhye Shyam Mulmi for his rhythmic art, Late Puran Khadka for his abstracts, Asha Dongol for his tantric and modern mix, Erina Tamrakar for her third eye, Pramila Bajracharya for her colour and shapes abstract will be exhibited in the event. Likewise, the gallery will also display art by Bhairaj Maharjan known for his landscapes, narrow streets and people’s daily life-art, Mukesh Shrestha for his socio-politics and contemporary spin to traditional Paubha art and Krishna Gopal Shrestha’s illustrations in media. The exhibition will last for 15 days starting from April 14 to May 1, 2018.
