Govt to adopt austerity measures

Kathmandu, April 15 The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has decided to adopt austerity measures to check unnecessary expenditure in government bodies. The OPMCM has been also working to bring a policy to curb unnecessary expenditures, according to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s Media Expert Ram Sharan Bajgain. “The government is planning to bring a policy to control unnecessary expenditure in government offices throughout the country,” said Bajgain. Every year millions of rupees are spent unnecessarily from the state coffers. According to Bajgain, Prime Minister Oli was serious about curbing unnecessary expenses. The PM himself has downsizes his private secretariat. Earlier, the PM’s secretariat used to have 90 members, but now it has been limited to 40 members. Likewise, the government has also directed the concerned agencies to send additional vehicles to the provinces.
