MYAGDI: Fourteen concrete bridges would be constructed along the Beni-Korala road section. Korala is the transit point on the Nepal-China border in Mustang district. The bridges would be constructed on the tributaries of the Kaligandaki River. The road section runs parallel to the river. At present, six bridges are under construction. Of the remaining eight bridges, tenders have been called for some whereas some are in designing stage, and others have reached the stage of contract. Chief of the Kaligandaki Corridor Project Narendra Subedi said, “Work is being carried out on the bridges with the goal of completing them in the next 30 months. The 169 kilometres long Beni-Jomsom-Korala road is currently being upgraded.” Bailey bridges have been used currently and these bridges would be replaced by concrete bridges, Subedi said.
