Biratnagar/ Khotang, May 6 Transport entrepreneurs, who had declared agitation in support of the syndicate system and halted transport service, said on Friday that they would register their companies. After the Morang District Administration Office issued arrest warrants in the names of transport entrepreneurs, Eastern Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs’ Association, Morang, wrote to the CDO and informed him that they would opt to register their companies. The letter signed by association General Secretary Dharma Dev Sah states that they would register their companies and not halt transport service. Sah’s Apsara Delux has started the process of registering the company. Transport entrepreneurs had backed down after CDO Ram Prasad Acharya reached the Bus Park following the diktat from the Home Minister to arrest the entrepreneurs. “They have pledged to register their companies and not to strike as the transport sector fell under essential service,” CDO Acharya said. Arrested transport entrepreneur Uttam Chaulagain was freed after the association sent the letter to the CDO. Meanwhile, at least five  transport entrepreneurs who were held by the government  on Friday after  they blatantly stood against the government’s move to  end the  syndicate system in the transportation sector were released in  Khotang last evening. Khotang Transportation Entrepreneurs’  Association  Chairperson Bishnu Kumar Shreshtha, Senior Vice-chairperson  Raj Kumar  Rai, Secretary General Ram Kumar Hingmang, Treasurer Govinda  Katuwal  and adviser Buddhibinod Luitel were released on the condition  that they  would abide by the government’s rules on transportation,  according to  CDO Surendra Raj Poudel.
