Water purification plant at Duepiple in final stage

Lamjung, May 10 The construction of a water purification plant at Duepiple of Madhya Nepal Municipality, Lamjung, has reached its final stage. The contractor company said the construction would complete in two months. Parajuli Construction Company was awarded the contract to build the plant at an estimated cost of Rs 20.67 million. Ramgha Samibhanjyang Drinking Water and Sanitation Consumer Committee has adopted the ‘one tap per household’ government policy. Consumers Committee Chair Nawaraj Parajuli said the committee will invest Rs 3.3 million in the plant. According to him, Rs 1 million has been provided and the remaining amount will be collected from the consumers. Consumers Committee Secretary Saroj Adhikari said the decision to collect funds from consumers was taken in the recently-held general assembly. Water will be supplied through 660 taps. The water purification plant will purify water brought from Katunge-based water sources in the municipality.
