Aung San Suu Kyi, other leaders detained by military in Myanmar

After days of speculation of whether an untoward event would unfold in the aftermath of the election results being labelled fraudulent by the army, senior leaders from the ruling National League for Democracy have been detained.
Myanmar's senior political figure Aung San Suu Kyi and other leaders have been detained by the army in an early morning raid, as per Reuters.
The party's spokesperson Myo Nyunt was quoted as saying by the Reuters that Suu Kyo, President Win Myint and others had been taken in by the Army.

Tensions had been mounting between the government and military that had made way for doubts of a possible coup.
