KATHMANDU: Senior neurosurgeon Dr Upendra Devkota has received the Dr Balaram Joshi Gyan Bigyan Puraskar (knowledge and science award) on Wednesday. Dr Devkota was honoured in recognition of his significant contributions to the field of medical services in Nepal, neurology related services in particular. The award was initiated in 1996, in the name of Dr Balaram Joshi who was himself a renowned scientist, to honour outstanding contributions in the field of Science and Knowledge. Founder President of the Academy, Angoor Baba Joshi handed over the award to Devkota at the Neuro Hospital in Bansbari, where the renowned neurosurgeon is admitted. Dr Upendra Devkota, who has been diagnosed with Bile Duct Cancer (Cholangiocarcinoma), is admitted at the Neuro Hospital since April. READ ALSO:
