BUDHA SUBBA GOLD CUP: African United in final

African United advanced to the final of the eighth Budha Subba Gold Cup Football Tournament held at the Dharan Stadium after beating Knight Chess Club of Jhapa 3-0 here today.
Obagbemiro Junior, Nurudeen Salau and Abdul Gani scored a goal each for the team that recently won the fourth Aaha Gold Cup in Pokhara.
Skipper Junior put his team ahead through a superb free kick in the 14th minute before Salau doubled the tally five minutes before the break.
African United ensured the berth in the final after Abdul Gani added the third goal following Junior’s pass in the 68th minute.
Earlier, Knight Chess goalie Min Basnet had denied Junior’s attempt from the eight yards. The assembled African team missed as many as four good chances in the second half while Knight Chess had just three opportunities throughout the game. African United goalkeeper Uche Onyebule had saved all three attempts.
African United will take on hosts Dharan Football Club in the final on Saturday.
