Rain-triggered landslide obstructs Narayangadh-Muglin road section again

KATHMANDU: No sooner had the security personnel cleared the landslide debris at four different places along Narayangadh-Muglin road section that another landslide occurred at Charkilo obstructing the vehicular movement again today. According to Chitwan District Police Office, landslides triggered by incessant rain occurred at four different places at around 2:30 am today. The Narayangadh-Muglin road expansion project undertook the task of clearing the debris from the road surface at around 10:00 am, said police and added that another landslide occurred at Charkilo at 11:30 pm, obstructing the road again. Excavators are being used to clear the road, informed police. Meanwhile, passengers are stranded as traffic police have halted the vehicular movement because boulders are reported to be slipping down the hill. Police said that it might take a couple of hours to resume the vehicular movement along the road section.
