BUTWAL: The Butwal-Tansen section of the Siddhartha Highway has remained obstructed due to a landslide that occurred at Siddhababa Temple area at around 11:00 pm on Sunday, following continuous rains for two days.

The Western Region Traffic Police Office, Butwal said the mudslide with stones has not stopped and the work of removing the debris is yet to be started.

This section of the highway is considered risky as even light rainfall triggers mudslides. The road section has been obstructed four times prior to this owing to the same reason this year.

Vehicles travelling to and from Syangja, Pokhara, Baglung, Gulmi, Arghakhanchi and various other destinations have been stranded because of the road obstruction.
