LAHAN: Police have seized and destroyed a huge cache of bootleg liquor at Lahan Municipality-5 in Siraha district on Thursday.

A team led by Police Inspector at Area Police Office, Lahan, Bijay Yadav confiscated 10,000 litres of homemade liquor based on a tip-off that the liquor was being illegally produced and traded in the region.

Police have adopted stern measures against the production of liquor in the town following a rise in cases of violence against women including domestic violence, Yadav informed.

Police have also seized goods used to produce the booze, added Yadav.
