KATHMANDU: 'Bol Bam' pilgrims have thronged a temple to worship 'Lord Shiva' during the holy month of Shrawan at Sundarijal in Kathmandu today. Pilgrims from Nepal and India travel some 22 kilometres on bare feet to Sundarijal from the capital city to collect holy water before returning to Pashupathinath temple to worship the 'Shiva Linga'. The festival lasts for a month, during which devotees observe fast and throng temples of 'Lord Shiva', who is regarded as the ultimate destroyer in Hinduism. Hindu devotees pray for the happiness of their families during the festival.
