Kathmandu, August 2 Mahendra Raya Yadav, one of the members of Presidium in Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal, today said the constitution will not be implemented if the government does not amend it as per their demands. Speaking at the House of Representative, one of the six members of the presidium of his party, Yadav asked the government to amend the constitution as soon as possible according to their demand. “We have already handed over our demands to the government. Our party has even supported the government, but it is ignoring us,” he said, adding, “If the constitution is not amended, it will fail.” He also raised the issue related to citizenship. “The constitution has allowed Madhesi citizens of Nepal to get citizenship on the basis of descent. But the Chief District Officers in Province 2 are not giving permission to citizens to make their citizenship documents,” he said. Another Lawmaker from RJP-N Pramod Shah said the government should follow the constitutional provision. Later, there was conflict in the House after he said the persons who killed people had became prime minister and speaker of the country. Deputy-Speaker of the House Shiva Maya Tumpahamphe asked Parliament Secretariat to delete those words from the record.
