Two-thirds of hearing-committee reject CJ aspirant Joshee

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the committee for parliamentary hearing on Chief Justice aspirant Deepak Raj Joshee has rejected his endorsement through a voting process. Two-thirds majority of the parliamentary hearing committee members decided to reject Joshee's nomination. Earlier today, Nepali Congress members had boycotted the meeting. 10 members of the PHC voted against Joshee's favour. Nine from the 15-member committee hail from the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) while the major opposition Nepali Congress have four members in the committee. Federal Socialist Forum Nepal and Rastriya Janata Party Nepal have one member each in the hearing committee.
