1472 persons booked for defying traffic rules in a day

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan Traffic Division has said 1472 persons have been booked for violating traffic rules in the valley on Tuesday. According to the police, 85 persons were charged for driving under the influence of alcohol, 209 persons for violating lane rules and 124 people were fined for illegal parking in the valley. Likewise, as many 34 persons were penalised for honking. MTPD further said 1020 persons were booked for other offences. Meanwhile, police have intensified traffic vigilance to ease traffic congestions and minimise road accidents in Kathmandu.
