Bombs defused at various places in Kathmandu; two nabbed in possession

KATHMANDU: Nepal Army's bomb disposal squads today have defused improvised explosive devices (IEDs) found at Naikap Balkhu Bridge in Chandragiri Municipality and Nayapati in Gokarneshwar Municipality of Kathmandu district. Two persons have also been nabbed from Jamal in possession of explosives today, Chief of Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, Bishwo Raj Pokharel told Rastriya Samachar Samiti. Ushakiran and Tara Sanjel were arrested after they were found possessing IEDs. Earlier this morning, IEDs were defused by security personnel in Bhaktapur. Police are carrying out patrol and have also mobilised their team in civvies in different areas for maintaining law and order, Police Chief Pokharel informed. Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)-led Communist Party of Nepal has called for shutdown across the country today. Although educational institutions have been closed today the traffic in the valley have not been affected despite bringing some vehicles to halt at the places where IEDs were detected. READ ALSO:
