BAJURA: Landslips and floods triggered by incessant rainfall for the past week have obstructed 12-km-stretch along the Sanfe-Martadi road section in Bajura. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Sagar Bohora, multiple flash floods and landslips have swept away the road at various areas bringing vehicular movement to a complete halt. Moreover, the landslides have increased the chances of blocking the Budhiganga River at Dwari, the confluence of Budhiganga and Triveni River in Bajura. The debris falling into the river at several places has narrowed the channel of the swollen Budhiganga. It has posed threats to the settlements downstream, including Sanfebagar bazaar, and Sanfe-Martadi road section. Landslips and floods have ravaged eight sections of the roadway making commuting difficult. The road section which was completely black topped just four months ago is now ravaged at various regions. Obstructions in vehicular movement has led to a shortage of daily essentials in markets of Martadi and Kolti. Likewise, the commuters are facing additional hassles due to road obstruction, locals said.
