Sunsari, August 20 Security officers of Nepal and India have agreed to work in coordination to stop criminal activities in the border areas. Participating at a joint meeting in Das Gaza area near Sunsari’s Bhantabari today, the security officers pledged to curb criminal activities on the border. The meeting was organised by Armed Police Force’s Haripur-based border outpost. According to Haripur border outpost in-charge Inspector Surendra Bahadur Bhandari, an agreement has been reached to exchange intelligence about persons hiding in another country after committing crimes and to control smuggling of weapons and other criminal activities. APF Sunsari SP Suresh Kumar Shrestha expressed his confidence that the agreement will be instrumental in controlling the criminal activities in the border areas. Sunsari police chief Rajan Adhikari, APF district chief Shrestha, National Investigation Office chief Tika Bahadur Pokharel, BOP Haripur APF inspector Bhandari, BOP Shreepur APF inspector Niran Thapa, among others, participated in the meeting from the Nepali side, while SSB 45th Battalion Birpur Commander Manoj Sunol, Supaul District SSB Ramananda Kumar Kushal and others participated from the Indian side.
