KATHMANDU: An emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers held today has decided to provide monetary relief to Nirmala Panta's family. The Panta family will receive NRs 1 million in compensation. Likewise, one million rupees will also be offered to the family of Sunny Khuna, a 14-year-old boy who was killed after police opened fire at a demonstration of protestors demanding a proper, scientific investigation into Nirmala's rape and eventual murder. Briefing mediapersons on Saturday's Cabinet decisions, government spokesperson and Minister for Communications Gokul Baksota said a probe committee has been formed to further investigate into the matter and that the guilty will be punished.
