BIMSTEC leaders call on President Bhandari

Kathmandu, August 30 Visiting heads of state/government of Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation member countries paid a courtesy call on President Bidhya Devi Bhandari today. Myanmar President Win Myint, Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena, Bhutan’s Chief Justice and Chief Adviser to the Interim Government Tshering Wangchuk, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina Wazed and Thai PM Prayut Chan-o-cha met President Bhandari at Shital Niwas. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Minister of Foreign Affairs Pradeep Gyawali and Shital Niwas officials greeted the guests. President Bhandari hosted a luncheon in honour of the dignitaries. Also today, Prime Minister Oli and Bangladeshi Prime Minister Hasina held a bilateral meeting.  According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, different aspects of Nepal-Bangladesh relations were discussed during the meeting.
