Begnas Lake boat sinking: six bodies found

LEKHNATH: Bodies of six people, most of them minors who had gone missing in the Begnas Lake following a boat capsize, have been retrieved today.

The deceased have been identified as Rabi Khanal (32), Shankar Khanal (7), Shiba Khanal (8), Prachin Poudel (5), Ranjit Gaire (5), and Manisha Bajgain (17) of Gaidakot, Nawalparasi.

The bodies have been sent to Pokhara for an autopsy, Sub Inspector of Police Bishnubar Singh Thapa said.

A total of 10 people were onboard the ill fated boat at the time. Two were rescued alive while eight have died.
