Dhangadhi shut down for second day

Dhangadhi, September 30 Locals of Dhangadhi continued the general strike against the decision of the Provincial Assembly  making Godawari Municipality of Kailali district, the permanent capital of Sudurpaschim Province today. Expressing dissatisfaction with the PA decision, Civil Society Struggle Committee had called an indefinite strike on yesterday. Vehicles stayed off the road while motorcycles, cycles and e-rickshaws plied partially in Dhangadhi Bazaar area following the strike today. Markets shut down completely. The strike saw protesters gather in different chowks of Dhangadhi and shut down the markets from early morning. Two-thirds majority of the ruling party in he PA had decided to make Godawari  the permanent capital of Sudurpaschim Province. Meanwhile, the opposition Nepali Congress and Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal lawmakers walked out of the PA expressing dissatisfaction with both the name of the province and the capital.
