Timalsina, Tamang win Junior Tennis C’ship titles

Kathmandu, October 13 Chirag Timalsina and Saloni Tamang won the U-14 section titles of the first Naulin JTI Junior Tennis Championship here at the Naulin Sports Villa today. Timalsina defeated Ivek Joshi 5-7, 6-2, 6-3 in boys’ section final, while Tamang beat Sirvani Shrestha 4-6, 6-0, 6-1 in girls’ final. Safal Shrestha registered a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Sakshyam Bikram Shah in U-12 boys’ final, while Suvangi Laxmi Shah defeated Ajja Regmi 6-2, 6-2 in girls’ final. In U-10 section, Ayushman Ghale defeated Rajbir Pradhan 1-6, 6-1 (10-3) to win boys’ section title, while Prasamsha Moktan beat Sunira Thapa 6-3, 7-5 in girls’ final. Nisad Joshi and Pratishtha Lama won U-9 section titles. Joshi beat Boris Adhikari 4-2, 4-2, while Lama defeated Samriddhi Maharjan 5-4, 4-2 in finals. Also, Adrit Nepal and Prajna Manandhar bagged U-8 section titles. Nepal beat Sparsha Timalsina 14-12, 8-10, 11-9, while Manandhar defeated Samragi Lama 10-7, 10-4 in finals. Samyog Tamang and Ayushree Hajur Ghale were adjudged the youngest players of the tournament. A total of 83 players took part in the five-day tournament organised by Naulin Sports Villa under the aegis of Nepal Tennis Association and Junior Tennis Initiation.
