BAJURA: Badimalika Municipality-7 Ward Chair Dharma Raj Padhaya has extended food support to underserved community for the upcoming festivals. 'On the occasion of upcoming Dashain and Tihar festivals, I decided to donate my perks to acquire food for economically marginalised people in the municipality,' Padhaya said. At least 14 families in the ward have received rice and edible oil for the festive season and farmers in the area also received seed saplings. One of the locals, Khadke BK said, ward chair's food support would perhaps help us to celebrate Dashain and Tihar festivals. 'During the time of elections, I had promised to offer 40 per cent of my perks and benefits to support the underserved communities in the ward. Today, I have obliged with my promises,' Padhaya shared. Meanwhile, Padhaya has pledged to offer his perks for the benefits of underserved community in the future. Likewise, Badimalika-9 ward chair, Vinod BK also offered support to 14 single women. With the motive of supporting these women during the festive season, he gave away edible oil, sugar, and clothes to them.
