BARA: A man from Aauraha in Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolis apparently hanged his two sons by their neck before committing suicide. 45-year-old Surendra Ram and his sons -- 5-year-old Subin Ram and 3-year-old Bipin Ram -- were found hanging by the ceiling at their home in Shanti Tole in Aauraha. Police reached the incident site after locals informed and took bodies of the deceased to Birgunj for autopsy. Surendra had a history of alcohol abuse and domestic violence and was once charged with attempt-to-murder his wife, informed Police Inspector Subhash Hamal. The suspect's wife had left the house leaving her two sons behind following counts of violence against her. According to locals, Surendra became mentally unstable after his wife walked away and used to assault his family members including his mother who had also left the house. Likewise, Surendra was caught and released repeatedly by law enforcement officers as he, under influence of alcohol, exchanged fights with locals prior to the incident, informed police.
