Cabinet approves MoU on labour supply with Malaysia

Kathmandu, October 28 The Cabinet today approved the Memorandum of Understanding on labour supply planned to be signed between Nepal and Malaysia. A meeting of the Cabinet  also authorised Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security Gokarna Bista to sign the pact. The MoU is planned to be signed tomorrow in Kathmandu by Bista and visiting Malaysian Minister of Human Resources M Kulasegaran, who arrived here today leading a delegation. The two countries had agreed on the MoU during the Malaysia visit of a Nepali delegation in the last week of September. One of the biggest destinations for Nepali migrant workers, Malaysia currently employs around 500,000 Nepalis. The Cabinet also approved the agenda for President Bidhya Devi Bhandari’s official visit to Qatar at the invitation of the Qatar Amir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, according to Minister of Federal Affairs and General Administration Lal Babu Pandit. President Bhandari will leave for Qatar tomorrow and return on November 1. The government also sacked general manager of Gorkhapatra Corporation Basanta Prakash Upadhyaya.
