Janakpurdham, October 28 The Province 2 government has formed a three-member commission to recommend the name and permanent headquarters of the province. A meeting of the province government held today formed the commission led by Policy Commission Vice-chairman Haribansha Jha. Mohan Lal Chaudhary and Ram Prabesh Baitha are members of the commission. Minister of Financial Affairs and Planning of the province Bijay Kumar Yadav said that the commission was given 45 days to submit its report. “The commission will hold discussion with political parties, experts from various fields, entrepreneurs and collect suggestions before submitting its report,” Minister Yadav said. Temporary headquarters of the province is Janakpur. Provincial Secretariat is located on the premises of Janakpur Cigarette Factory. Provincial lawmakers say that they have no difficulty fixing the permanent headquarters as majority of them have no reservation over making Janakpur the headquarters of the province. Differences, however, abound regarding the name of the province. Ruling Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal and Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal are in favour of naming the province as Madhes Pradesh. On the other hand, opposition parties and their lawmakers do not agree with that. Two-thirds majority of the province assembly is required to finalise name and permanent headquarters of the province. Ruling parties do not enjoy two-thirds majority in the Province Assembly. Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Province 2 parliamentary party leader Satya Narayan Mandal expressed ignorance about the formation of the commission to recommend name and headquarters of the province.
