DAMAULI: A person died after being crushed by a tractor in Myagde Rural Municipality-5 of Tanahun district on Thursday. Police have identified the deceased as the tractor driver's assistant Shambhu Nepali (21) of Myagde Rural Municipality-6. According to police, Nepali was travelling on the tractor (Ga 1 Ta 1975) en route from Bhimad to Changpatan when he fell off the vehicle and was crushed by its rear tyre at Khahare Dhara yesterday, critically injuring him. Nepali was rushed to Dulegauda-based GP Koirala Respiratory Centre where he breathed his last at 9:15 pm the same night during the course of treatment, informed Tanahun District Police Office. The body has been kept at Damauli Hospital for postmortem. Meanwhile, Bhimad-based Area Police Office has detained the tractor driver for further investigation, said police.
