Process underway to unify nationalist democratic forces

KATHMANDU: Ratriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Kamal Thapa and Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Democratic (RPP-D) Chairman Pashupati Shumsher Rana today have held a meeting with a view to unifying both the parties. Chairpersons of the two political parties held the meeting to take forward cooperation and unification of the political parties sharing common ideologies in view of the country's need for strong nationalist democratic force, according to the RPP's Central Committee member Mohan Shrestha. Shrestha said, meeting between the two leaders was positive towards unification of the parties and other meetings would take place in near future to conclude the process. Likewise, in a tea reception held by Unified Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Rastrabadi (URPP-R) in New Baneshwor, on Monday, the party's Chairman Prakash Chandra Lohani hinted that all three political parties with common ideologies may unite soon, URPP-R General Secretary Shyam Timilsina told THT Online. All the three parties share some common ideologies on promoting constitutional monarchy and rebuilding Nepal as a Hindu state.
