Deusi, Bhailo banned after 10pm in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, has requested the general public not to continue Deusi-Bhailo cultural programme after 10:00 pm. Chief District Officer(CDO) Ram Prasad Acharya, said that the general public has been urged not to play Deusi Bhailo after 10:00 pm citing the possibility of untoward activities that may take place at night. The CDO said that action would be taken against those were found playing Deusi and Bhailo flouting the DAO's request. Deusi and Bhailo are the typical cultural tradition of singing and dancing with blessings in a group, performed at the door of houses belonging to neighbours, friends or relatives in the festival.
