Municipality provides additional grant of Rs 100,000 to Sankhu folks

SANKHU: Shankharapur Municipality has provided an additional grant of Rs 100,000 to those who completed reconstruction of their quake-devastated houses maintaining the archaeological and historical style in Sankhu.

The grant was distributed as per the municipality’s decision to promote construction of houses maintaining traditional style so as to preserve the historical identity and existence of the area.

Milan Phuyal, engineer at Shankharapur Municipality, shared that so far eight earthquake survivors of Sankhu Bazaar area received Rs 100,000 each after completing reconstruction of their houses in line with the standards set by the municipality.

The 2015 earthquake had devastated as many as 700 houses with historical and archaeological style among around 1,000 houses in Sankhu Bazaar.
