TAPLEJUNG: Two persons have been arrested on separate charges in Taplejung district.

Police have arrested Amrit BK (20) from Hangdewa of Phuling Municipality-9 in accusation of raping a 15-year-old girl from the same locality. The District Police Office has initiated an investigation after the arrest. BK has confessed that he raped the girl taking her to his house.

Similarly, Mingma Sherpa from Meringden Rural Municipality-2 was arrested after he was convicted of robbery. The District Court fined Rs 2,300 and sentenced to six years of imprisonment. Sherpa had been absconding for long.
