BIRGUNJ: Parsa district police have arrested two Indian nationals on the charge of forging their citizenship.

Those arrested in this connection are Dinesh Kumar Sah and Arabinda Kumar Sarraf of Birgunj Metropolitan City-9. Police said that Sah had produced fake Nepali citizenship card at the District Administration Office, Parsa while applying for passport while Sarraf had produced forged citizenship while applying for citizenship for his son.

Sarraf possesses both Nepali and Indian citizenship papers and police have initiated an investigation into this. He had taken Nepali citizenship back in 2007.

Birgunj locals have demanded a thorough investigation into the citizenships issued by the special mobile teams at the time suspecting that more than 50 per cent of the people receiving Nepali citizenships were Indian citizens who claimed it with the aid of fake documents.
