Domestic investors should be encouraged: NCP Co-chair Dahal

Kathmandu, December 1 Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Co-chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that foreign investment should be used in the interest of the country. Releasing a book ‘Nepal’s Political-Economy: Possibilities and Challenges’ authored by NCP central committee member BamdevChhetri here today, NCP Co-chair Dahal said that the government  should focus on people-centric approach to increase domestic investment too. The former prime minister Dahal also said that development policies, budget and programmes should aim at encouraging domestic investors to invest in the country to ensure the development and prosperity. On the occasion, Dahal said that it was high time the government did some research on  economy, culture and development policies to take the country on the path to socialism. NCP Co-chair Dahal said that the political leadership had failed work as per people’s expectation and realise the dreams of all those who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Likewise, General Secretary of NCP Bishnu Poudel said the NCP was committed to changing people’s socio-economic status in the next five years. Commenting on the book, Prof Shivalal Bhusal, Prof Surya Thapa and others praised the book for providing new insights into the country’s economy and roadmap of prosperity. During the programme, writer Chhetri said the book has attempted to start a debate on the need of new socialism.
