KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has returned home today after participating in the 24th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP24) held in Katowice of Poland.

Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli welcomed President Bhandari at the VVIP section of Tribhuvan International Airport upon her arrival.

Deputy Prime Minister, government ministers, high-level government officials, and chiefs of security bodies were among those present at the airport to receive the Head-of-the-State.

A contingent of the Nepal Army presented 21-gun salute to the President on the occasion.

President Bhandari had made a special address to the inaugural session of COP24 which commenced on December 2 and will conclud on December 14.
