Jackal bites six in Salyan

SALYAN: As many as six people have been injured in two separate incidents relating to jackal attack in Salyan district on last night. The animal strayed from the nearby jungle bit four-year-old Laxman Rana, Sher Bahadur Pun (24), Pushpa Rana (30) and Man Bahadur Pun (16) at Kafleni, Bangadh Kupinde Municipality-5, on Friday night leaving them injured. Similarly, two others also sustained jackal bite injuries at Timile of Kumakhmalika Rural Municipality-2. It has been presumed that the same animal may be responsible for both the incidents. Meanwhile, the injured are receiving treatment at Sallibazar-based Janbandhu Poly Clinic. Police are searching for the animal which is believed to have rabies, the Sallibazar Area Police Office said.
