Damauli, December 23 Senior leader of Nepali Congress Ramchandra Paudel has called the recent party statute endorsed by its Mahasamiti meeting ‘democratic and inclusive’. “Contrary to the trend, the latest statute will now put an end to the practice of having to seek the grace of some heavyweight in the party to climb the organisational ladder, which is a good news for all party men,” he told a programme organised by Reporters Club, Tanahun, today. Further, hailing the meeting for having sorted out intra-party differences that had blighted the party for long, Paudel observed the recent statute would ensure that honest, committed and devoted persons got deserving seat and posts. The NC leader said that quibbling over the issue of religion was irrelevant. “As the country has already been declared secular, I don’t see any point in getting into the issue again. In fact, we shouldn’t link politics to religion and the party too should stay away from this,” he said.
