KATHMANDU: Saraswoti Youth Club (SYC) and Armed Police Force Club (APF) secured victories during the Pulsar Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League in Kathmandu on Tuesday. CYC took an early lead but conceded two late goals in the second half to capitulate victory to SYC at the ANFA Complex Ground in Satodobato today. CYC's Sajin Thapa Magar pounced on defensive lapse to open the scoring in the 14th minute. SYC's Manish Thapa equalised with a sensational goal from a dead-ball situation in the 86th minute. SYC's foreign recruit Francis Okechuku scored a winning goal, probably the last kick of the match in the deep stoppage time of second half to give all valuable three points to his team. Later, SYC's Pradip Bhandari was awarded man of the match title. In another departmental derby, APF playing at its home ground trounced Nepal Police Club to register a comfortable victory at the Halchowk Ground. APF's Rajendra Rawal broke the deadlock in the 20th minute before Hari Karki latched on to another goal in the half hour mark. Moments later, APF raced to three-goal lead as Yuvraj Khadka scored a thumping header in the 43rd minute. However, NPC pulled one goal back after Ajit Bhandari stuck in the first half stoppage time. Yuvraj Khadka tucked away a simple tap in to score his brace and team's fourth in the 85th minute to give an unassailable lead over the tiring opponent. Later, APF's Sudip Shikhrakar was adjudged man of the match and bagged a cash purse of Rs 10,000.
