Province 2 lagging behind in healthcare, says DPM Yadav

Siraha, January 11 Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health Upendra Yadav today said that Province 2 was lagging behind all other provinces in education and health sectors. Inaugurating the newly constructed building of Mirchaiya Primary Health Centre in Mirchaiya Municipality of Siraha today, DPM Yadav said health condition of the people of Province 2 was worse than the people of Karnali Province even though the province had sufficient number of health workers. DPM Yadav held that the government would allocate more budget to increase access to health facilities in backward areas. DPM Yadav informed that the government was preparing to establish a heath centre in every ward, primary sub-health centre in rural municipalities, hospital in municipalities and special health treatment hospital in the provinces. He added that as many as 1,200 hospitals would be established within this year across the country. DPM Yadav handed over the letters of appreciation to 31 persons who donated land and cash for the construction of the building for the health centre. The well-equipped health centre with 15 beds was constructed at the cost of Rs six crore and 18 lakh. The Department of Health has provided x-ray machine and other medical equipment to the health centre.
