Jhapa, January 17 Nepal Communist Party leader Yogesh Bhattarai has accused Dr Govind KC of playing into the hands of âfactoriesâ set up to mint money by selling the aspirants of medical studies to foreign countries. Speaking with journalists in Birtamod, Jhapa, today, Bhattarai, who is also a member of the Education and Health Committee of the Parliament, claimed the medical bill registered at the Parliament had addressed all the concerns of the agitating doctor. âThe recent bill has accommodated his concerns but I donât know why he decided to strike again without properly studying the recent bill,â said Bhattarai, who suspected that he was being used by others to serve their vested interests. âIf we were to accept his demand, we wouldnât be able to open a hospital anywhere in the country even in 10 years, so the committee used its discretion and made slight changes to the wording of the original draft of the bill, thatâs all,â he argued. Further, saying the medical bill, if passed, would end the trend of a political leader opening a medical college using his connections, Bhattarai said the bill has a provision that envisions opening government medical college in all provinces within five years from now.
